We have a winner!

I want to thank everyone who participated in the contest. It made my day checking my email and seeing all these adorable kids dropping in! I had such a hard time picking the final winner! Congrats to Madeline and mom for their winning entry! I look forward to working with you!

soulmates

There are some relationships that come to us fast, as if we knew one another in a past life. Kimberly and I met years ago when I lived out West. We now live seperated by many states, yet there is not a day that goes by I don't think of her and feel comfort knowing she's in the world. In addition, there is her family, who is equally amazing. Each one of them hold a very dear place in my heart and I am absolutely honored to call them friends. The Hines family joined us on our vacation recently where I took these photos. She has waited so patiently to see them, so finally, here they are. Love you! (i'm pretty sure we were fairies)

calendar cramp

Hello Friends!
I just looked at my calendar and realized I am booked through until mid-September! If you are interested in a session (ewww! I can't believe I'm saying this...is it already that time???) for Holiday portraits or custom designed Xmas cards things may book up fairly quickly, so call me now to get on the calendar. I always make time for newborns, so if you are expecting, you can call to give me a estimated due date and I will work you in. I look forward to hearing from you!

The Mojo Affair

Ms. Kenya is a very talented artist with a heart full of song. She called me to take photos for the upcoming music tour and album cover for "The Mojo Affair". I tried not to reveal too much about the final result (Shhhh), but these shots to me were a true reflection of her simple beauty.

a walk, in my mommie shoes...

We all have our daily routine, with or without kids. My life consists of two full time jobs; An 8a-5p of brain work [working in scientific research] the other is 7p-12a, i like to call my hearts work, as a lifestyle photographer. {thank god i work with one of my best friends, so at lunch i get in my one.on.one female companionship}. On Saturday mornings I get a little me time, a 90 minute yoga class and if you can imagine there being any more hours in my week left, it goes to my family. You have to understand, I have an amazing husband, one who works as hard as I do. He is working a full time job and goes to school full time at night to get his business degree. Honestly, I could not do it without him, he is beyond amazing. We are slammed pack with all this + the children's life of friends, sports, and school. We all juggle it quite well and our home life is quite comical, even in the worst of times {for example the kids just might be having one of those days when they are beating each other up, pitching fits, or god forbid- can't decide which sippy cup they want...} my husband & I have to look at one another and just laugh. But the best part is watching each of their unique personalities grow and change which make me realize {everyday} just how blessed we are to have one another and how abundance is an understatement when it comes to the amount of love and kindness we share between one another. They are my inspiration in life, making me want to be a better person. Here are some of the funny {and not so funny} moments lately in the gupton household.

Kyler is potty training. He's been potty training for about a year now, and he's in NO hurry. His timing is impeccable, his body has a clock that rings at about 3am nightly. We hear him yelling from his room, "hey SOMEbody...I gottaaaa poopie!"
Kyler is very casual about everything he does, he takes pride and appreciates every moment life has to offer. I introduced to him the world of reading while waiting. I couldn't tell if his excitement was because he made progress on the potty or he liked the illustrations. If you didn't notice also, he's a great multi.tasker {i mean really, who can brush their hair.teeth. read. and potty all at the same time?}!

He's really going to kill me one day for this post...if my husband dosent first!

When they say snips.snails.puppy dog tails, they were talking about Brady. He is every definition of a boy and walks proudly in those footsteps. These fits are his way of getting attention. He's not really crying, we'll maybe once in a while he'll turn on the water, but it's more like an elaborate dramatization. The funniest part is if you look really closely at the second photo in the series, you'll see a small sliver between his fingers where he's peaking through to see if your still watching...

you can click on any of these photos to see them enlarged

Jake, my oldest son, is a pre.teen. I should just go ahead and skip the pre part except that he is only 11, yet already demonstrating most characteristics of a teenager. He is quiet and emotional.there's alot going on in that brain of his. But when he wants to open up and let you in, we have some great conversations about life. At this age, you have to remind yourself, they will grow up to be decent human beings...one day!
